In the early 1990s, during the construction of the "Taodu Road" connecting Dingshan to Yixing, workers accidentally unearthed a portion of the original Zisha ore while digging into the slopes. This clay was later named "Jiangpo Ni" (Slope-Reducing Clay). Its discovery was entirely accidental, and due to its limited quantity, it has become one of the most prized clays.
When fired, Jiangpo Ni exhibits a rich, antique character—displaying an orange-red hue with hints of yellow, evoking a deep sense of classical nostalgia. After being seasoned through tea brewing, it develops an even stronger vintage charm, closely resembling the texture of Ming and Qing dynasty clays.
