This vermilion clay exhibits a subtle crimson hue with a dense, smooth sandy feel—its enigmatic charm captivates teapot enthusiasts. When used for brewing, it produces a bright and vibrant tea soup, quickly releasing aromatic notes and accumulating a sweet, mellow flavor.
The raw ore of this Zhu Ni clay is hard and dense, with a warm color tone. The teapot faintly glows with an orange radiance, displaying a translucent texture comparable to the Zhu Ni clay from the mid-Qing Dynasty. However, it is unsuitable for crafting large vessels.
Generally, the lower the mesh count of the clay, the larger the particle size. This leads to a high deformation rate during firing, difficulty in shaping, and a low success rate. The resulting product has a strong granular texture and enhanced breathability and water absorption.
