In the early 1990s, during the excavation for the "Ceramic Capital Road Construction Project" connecting Dingshan to Yixing, workers unintentionally unearthed a portion of raw purple clay ore. This clay was later named "Jiangpo Ni" (Slope-Reducing Clay). The discovery of this clay was entirely accidental, and its reserves were extremely limited.
After processing, Jiangpo Ni exhibits a rich, vintage character—displaying an ochre-red hue tinged with yellow, evoking a deep sense of classical nostalgia at first glance. With further tea seasoning, its aged charm becomes even more pronounced.
