The Discovery of Jiangponi Clay
In the early 1990s, during the construction of the "Taodu Road" project connecting Dingshan to Yixing, a section of original Zisha ore was accidentally excavated from the slopes. This clay was later named Jiangponi (meaning "slope-descending clay"). Its discovery was entirely accidental, and its reserves remain extremely limited.
After processing, Jiangponi clay exhibits a profoundly classic character, appearing orange-red with subtle yellow undertones. Its visual texture evokes a sense of nostalgia and timeless elegance. Through repeated use and seasoning, it develops an even richer antique charm, becoming highly prized among teapot enthusiasts.
