Dicaoqing (Base-Level Green Clay) originates from the lower strata of the Huanglong Mountain range in Yixing, Jiangsu. Renowned for its superior quality, it has been highly esteemed by potters throughout history. The name "Dicaoqing" is derived from the local Yixing dialect and has been preserved in its transliterated form to avoid confusion. This clay was primarily mined from the No. 4 and No. 5 pits of Huanglong Mountain, as well as the Taixi ore deposit.

Located beneath the purple clay layer, Dicaoqing is exceptionally pure, with a fine texture and a stable, earthy brown hue. It has been widely used by master potters in modern times for crafting teapots.
